🧭 RedditChecklist

Subreddit Research Worksheet

A checklist for evaluating Reddit communities where your clients ask questions, covering rules, activity, jurisdiction and fit before you participate.

Not every community is worth your time, and some are off limits to professionals who want to promote themselves. This worksheet helps you evaluate a community before you invest effort in it, and records what you learn.

What’s inside

  • A community profile section: type, size, activity and tone
  • A rules review covering advice, self-promotion, links and professional flair
  • Jurisdiction and unauthorized-practice checks
  • A question log for recurring topics and plain-language phrasing
  • A go, watch or skip decision with notes

How to use it

  1. Pick a community from your candidate list.
  2. Read the rules page and a month of top posts, then complete each section.
  3. Log at least five recurring questions in the asker’s own words.
  4. Make your decision: participate, keep watching or skip.
  5. Revisit the worksheet every few months, since rules and moderators change.

Download the checklist and complete one per community.
